XVIII International Exhibition of flowers, plants, equipment and materials for ornamental gardening and flower business “ÖÂÅÒÛ/FLOWERS-IPM-2011” was held at the territory of ALL-Russian International Centre at the dates of August 31-September 3, 2011.

486 companies from 19 countries represented the richest collection of species and varieties of green and woody plants, flowers, and equipment for cultivation and care of flower production. Russia was represented with enterprises and companies from 30 regions. For the first time more that 40 Russian nurseries participated at the exhibition.

In just four days the exhibition attracted more than 18 500 visitors. The exposition area was more than 17 000 sq.m.

On August 31th The International Exhibition “ÖÂÅÒÛ/FLOWERS-IPM-2011” was officially opened by Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russian Federation, Secretary of State Mr. Aleksandr Petrikov; Minister and Counselor of the Trade and Economic Department of Polish Embassy in the Russian Federation Mr. Marek Ochepka; Managing Director of Messe Essen GmbH Mr. Egon Gallinis; Director General of State Joint-Stock Company All-Russian Exhibition Centre Mr. Ivan Malakhov.

Greetings to the participants and guests on behalf of the Minister of Agriculture Mrs. Elena Skrynnik was read by Mr. Petrikov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russian Federation.

At the frame of business program were held more than 30 events. The program was opened with Conference for specialists “Development of Russian Floriculture: Status and Prospects.” The main theme of the second day was problem of Russian nurseries. The total amount of business program participants was over 2 500.

A special entertainment was provided with floral show of competitors of the 8th Russian Championship of Professional Floristry, organized by the National Guild of Florists in Russia.

This year the exhibition novelty was represented by exposition of water and coastal plants for park and cottage ponds decoration “Water Garden”. Composition of 5 cascades with different plants which was located in an area of 80 sq.m. has become a kind of visual aid to decorate the landscape, municipal parks and one’s own gardens. This exposition was awarded the Grand Prix for the originality of landscape composition.

The most popular on the Russian flower market products and technologies were awarded honorary awards.

Grand Prix for THE BEST QUALITY OF PRODUCTS for the collection of nympheas and unique coastal plants was given to Aleksandr Marchenko from the nursery of aquatic plants (Moscow). Gold medals were awarded to the “SeDek Agrofirm”, “Armavir State Farm of Decorative Plants by Plohov N.S.”, Zu Jeddeloh Nurseries, Ramenskoe greenhouses.

Grand Prix for THE BEST EXPOSITION DESIGN was given to the company “NATURA” (landscape architect A.Landysheva). Gold medals were awarded to the companies “ELITUPAK”, “AUSTRALIAN FLORA CORPORATION” and others.

Grand Prix for NOVELTIES OF PRODUCTS received company WolfshmidtSamen & Yungpflanzen. Gold medals were awarded to Ernst Benary Samenzucht GmbH, Polish Nursery Association “DUET” Sp.J.Konopka, “Garden Retail Service”.

And for THE BEST INNOVATION SOLUTION Grand Prix was given to Volgograd Regional Botanical Garden.

Modern pavilion ¹75 has provided comfort conditions and high level of service for exhibitors and visitors.

The next International Exhibition “FLOWERS-IPM” will be held from August 29th till September 1st 2012 at the territory of All Russian Exhibition Centre.

«ÖÂÅÒÛ-FLOWERS - 2011».

International Exhibition “Flowers” is the largest international professional exhibition of “B2B” class held in Russia on this subject. It deserved many international awards as an exhibition meeting all international standards and requirements, among then recognition from UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, the International Union of Exhibitions and Fairs, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. From year to year an increasing number of Russian and international flower companies and firms engaged in flower business is taking part in the exhibition.
