The Netherlands is the international hub of the trade in flowers and plants. As the world’s largest market place for cut flowers, indoor plants and tree nursery products, more than 50 percent of the international trade takes place via The Netherlands. FloraHolland flower auction is the international market leader when it comes to the ornamental flower and plant trade. Some 11 billion cut flowers and 1.2 billion indoor plants and tree nursery products are sold via FloraHolland every year. Annually, sales total more than EUR 4 billion. The leading position of FloraHolland was achieved through the unique combination of producers, auctions and traders. FloraHolland has six auction locations situated right in the heart of the main production regions in The Netherlands. Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk and Rijnsburg are three export auctions of FloraHolland. This is why the most important Dutch exporters have set up shop here. Dutch exporters are not just major suppliers of flowers, plants and tree nursery products, but also have a great deal of expertise when it comes to worldwide logistics.
